My Telegram bot won't connect
A Telegram bot usually fails to connect because the token was copied incompletely or the bot's username doesn't end in 'bot'. Re-copy the full token from @BotFather and paste it again.

Re-copy the whole token
Tokens are long and easy to cut short. Open your chat with @BotFather, copy the token as a single block, and paste it into Validate & connect. Nudge the clipboard into the field manually rather than typing the token by hand.
Check the bot's username
The username must end in 'bot' — for example, yourbusiness_bot. If it doesn't, BotFather will let you create it but the connection won't complete. Use /setname in BotFather to fix the display name, or create a fresh bot with a valid username.
Check the token hasn't been revoked
If you've used /revoke in BotFather, the old token stops working. Copy the current token from BotFather again — that replaces the revoked one.
Still not connecting
Email us the bot's username and a screenshot of the error. Never send us the token itself in an email — we don't need it and you shouldn't share it.
